The announcement of the finalists for the NBA's major awards rolls on, as we now know the three finalists for the Rookie of the Year award. Once again, there were no surprises in this trio, as Joel Embiid, Dario Saric, and Malcolm Brogdon will be up for the award on June 26 during the NBA Awards Show.

As evidenced by these finalists, the 2016 rookie class was not that great, with Brogdon being the only finalist that was actually drafted last summer -- and he was a second-round pick.

Embiid and Saric, the first teammates to be up for an award, were each drafted in 2014, with Embiid going No. 3, and Saric going No. 12.

Aside from MVP, this will be perhaps the most interesting award debate. Joel Embiid was clearly the best rookie, but he only played 31 games, and many view that as a disqualifying factor. Then, there's the discussion over whether or not winning matters, as both Saric and Brogdon had very solid seasons, but the Bucks guard did his work for a playoff team.
